About this Blog This site offers honest reviews of restaurants that can be found in the region of Montréal (and other places in the province of Québec). We're looking out for the lovers of good food by not only offering our sincere opinions but also by sometimes comparing various restaurants from the same chain and offering other practical information.
The list of establishments we have visited grows regularly. You can see the entire list by using one of the search tools offered at the top of this column.
About the Author We are a couple who loves to spend some quality time at restaurants. We wouldn't call ourselves "gourmets", but we are always on the lookout for a quality culinary experience.

Bâton Rouge, Greenfield Park
Baton Rouge is a chain of restaurants, many of which can be found in and around Montreal, that offer a warm atmosphere, almost relaxing. The service is generally friendly (though there are some exceptions).
They serve "Southern" cuisine, so it should come as no surprise if one of their best meals is the "mouth-watering baby back ribs". They're amongst the best tasting in Montreal, and the meat literally melts in your mouth.
We visited them more than a few times. Here are some of our favourite meals: Louisiana spinach dip (appetizer), hamburgers and fries, seafood linguini and, of course, the ribs (served with the all dressed baked potato). And for desert, I often eat the deep chocolate walnut brownie with kahlua and ice cream.
We also tried the following: cheddar dip (a lot of salt and a bit too rich), the chicken tenders (taste great, but the fried chicken almost leaves us nauseous), the potato soup (looks like mashed potatoes, it's really thick) and the key lime pie (pretty good).
Prices are reasonable and the portions are generous. A plate of ribs costs around $22.
Sandra and I are real Baton Rouge fans. If you like that kind of cuisine, you'll probably be very satisfied by your meal.
