About this Blog
This site offers honest reviews of restaurants that can be found in the region of Montréal (and other places in the province of Québec). We're looking out for the lovers of good food by not only offering our sincere opinions but also by sometimes comparing various restaurants from the same chain and offering other practical information.

The list of establishments we have visited grows regularly. You can see the entire list by using one of the search tools offered at the top of this column.

Le Saint-L

A crepe (pancake) restaurant in the heart of Saint-Lambert? You could expect another dark establishment that sells dried up pancakes with little taste. But you would be wrong!

The Saint-L has been open for many years and offers a simple but well lit room (as well as clean) where the service is always nice.

The choice of pancakes (they're really crepes in the European tradition) is pretty wide (ham, sausages, eggs, vegetables, seafood, etc.) and the portions are generous. The happy mood of the restaurant permeates all the way through to the meals themselves. Sure, they're only pancakes, but they're the best pancakes I've had the chance to eat in all of Montreal and its surroundings.

For those who don't feel like eating crepes, you'll also find on the menu some other interesting choices such as a delicious cheese fondue.

And for desert? More pancakes! Many "creperies" offer deserts that are a bit too... thin. Not here! The "sucre à la crème" (sugar cream?) pancake is really decadent. You'll also find non crepe deserts such as carrot cake, cheese cake, etc.

Although I love visiting the Saint-L for a lovely Sunday lunch, you might like going there on a Friday or Saturday night. There's a singer and, for a few dollars, a card reader will most probably predict something interesting.

The prices for the pancakes vary between 8$ and 14$. Sandra and I strongly recommend this place.
